## The Story

Founded in 2001, the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame preserves the century of racing, engineering and road-tripping culture that turned a small South Dakota town into the biggest motorcycle rally in the world.

The building itself — the old Sturgis city hall — sits at 999 Main Street, the visual anchor of downtown. Every Rally, new inductees are ceremonially added to the Hall of Fame on the corner outside.

## What You'll See

Rare pre-war Indians, Harleys and Excelsiors

The Jack Hoel / Black Hills Classic origin exhibits (the 1938 race that started it all)

The Hall of Fame gallery of racers, builders and rally figures

Rotating custom-bike features and vintage race machines

The Rally poster archive — every year since 1938

Gift shop with museum-only patches and prints

## Rider Tips

- ★ Go in the morning — Main Street is easy to walk before the afternoon cruise picks up.
- ★ Give yourself 60–90 minutes. It's bigger than it looks from the street.
- ★ The corner outside is the single most photographed spot in Sturgis — take the picture.
- ★ Ask about the current temporary exhibit; they rotate a couple times a year.
